Chapter One: Pat It began as Kate and I approached KC. When we saw the sign for the airport we immediately started screaming "Pat, Pat we're coming - wait for us." Kate rolled down the window on my side, I stuck my head out and yelled REALLY loud so she would know we were almost there. Then we saw a plane take off. So we yelled "Pat, Pat wait. We're here. Don't leave." "Pat, Pat - JUMP!" Kate and I drove into the airport grounds and saw three maintenance type workers wearing their yellow caution vests and looking down a very deep hole. Uh-oh. "Hey, have you seen Pat? Did she land there?" We parked, had trouble figuring out how to get out of the garage into the terminal. Walked and walked down the corridor, staring at every female who might possibly be Pat. We haven't told Marty but we found Pat with a man. He thinks she could make her way in this world if she became a dress designer. But that's Pat's story to tell. That's how the weekend began. |
